PowerHouse Technician at Kilombero Sugar Company
Kilombero Sugar Company, the largest producer of sugar in the country, operates cohesively with Illovo Distillers Tanzania Limited (IDTL) and is a member of Illovo Sugar Africa Limited, the largest sugar producer in Africa. Located in the Morogoro region in the centre/south of the country, Kilombero comprises two adjacent agricultural estates and sugar factories – Msolwa and Ruembe – connected by a low-level bridge over the Great Ruaha River.
Annually producing around 130,000 tons of sugar from approximately 1.25 million tons of sugar cane, our company benefits from both its own cane growing operations (55%) and those of our growers (45%), who receive ongoing support and training from us. Our successful “route to market” business model has garnered significant local consumer support for our ‘Bwana Sukari’ brand brown sugar for direct consumption. As one of four main sugar producers in Tanzania, current production levels exceed 300,000 tons, making us a net importer of sugar. At Kilombero, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified candidates to apply for career opportunities with us.
